LeKhuBo Connect (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the LeKhuBo Connect website and app
(the “Service”), a South African platform that connects job seekers with local work and
connects people who need services with trusted service providers. We respect your privacy
and handle your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information
Act, 2013 (POPIA).
1. Information we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us, which may include:
- Account details — name, email address, phone number and the role you
register as (job seeker, service provider, or potential employer).
- Job-seeker registrations — skills, experience, qualification, location,
preferred sector and an optional CV you upload.
- Service provider listings — the services you offer, area, rates,
experience, an optional photo and portfolio images.
- Service requests & messages — the details of requests you send or
receive, and the content of chat messages (including any photos you choose to share).
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and show the right dashboard for your role.
- To connect job seekers, service providers and the people who hire them.
- To display approved service-provider listings in our public directory.
- To send you service-related emails (for example account confirmation, password
resets, request updates and new-message notifications).
- To review provider listings and moderate reviews for quality and safety.
3. How your information is shared
- Between users to enable the service. For example, when you contact a
provider or send a request, the relevant contact details and messages are shared with
that other party so you can connect.
- Approved provider listings are public. Information you put in a
listing is visible to anyone browsing the directory.
- Job-seeker profiles may be viewed by verified service providers and
administrators so they can offer you work.
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Service providers we use
We use trusted third-party providers to run the Service:
- Supabase — secure database, authentication and file storage.
- Resend — sending transactional emails.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the
Service. You may ask us to delete your account and personal information at any time (see
Contact below).
6. Your rights (POPIA)
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to
its processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using
the details below.
7. Children
The Service is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.
However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee
absolute security.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by
